Rules and regulations
Miss Escondido, Miss Teen Escondido and Jr. Miss Escondido
Every contestant must comply with the following rules. Failure to comply, or
falsification of entry form, will result in the forfeiture of the title, crown and sash without refund of any kind.
Both will be transferred to the next qualified contestant, along with any and all prizes.
1. Miss contestants must be between the ages of 17(and a senior in high school) and 23 by pageant day (May 1, 2025).
Teen contestants must be between the ages of 13 and 17(and a junior in high school) by pageant day (May 1, 2025).
Jr. Miss contestants must be between the ages of 9 and 12 by pageant day (May 1, 2025).
2. Contestants must be single, never been married or had a marriage annulled, must not be living with a significant other or fiance and must never have given birth to a child or have been a mother, not be pregnant at anytime during the contest or holding of the title.
3. Contestant must attend a school in the Escondido School District and/or live or work in Escondido and must commit to living in the United States for the duration of their reign as title holder.
4. Contestant must not have been convicted of a crime or moral turpitude.
5. Contestant must not have appeared nude nor appeared in a compromised state (i.e. underage drinking, use of drugs, smoking, etc.) in any photo, movie, movie, video, publications, website, or event and must agree not to appear in such during the year of her reign. This includes personal nudes sent between phone. All content on social media must be of good moral content and will be monitored by pageant directorship of any contestant or winner for the pageant term and the entire reign.
6. Contestants will be judged on confidence, poise, personality, speaking ability. Physical beauty will not be judged, but you will be expected to be well groomed and dressed appropriately. Competition will include personal interview (with the exception of the Jr. Miss age group), a getting to know you contestant segment, evening gown and impromptu question. All attire must be approved by directors prior to pageant day. Wearing un-approved attire on pageant day could result in immediate consequences including loss of points and up to contestant being withdrawn from competition. Contestants will be responsible for all costs of participation. Including Evening Gown, Business attire, and black dress for pageant.
7. There is not entry fee to compete but each contestant will be responsible to obtain sponsors via program/social media ad sales to pay a sponsorship fee of $350 to help defray costs of the pageant awards, raise money for scholarships/charities. Any contestant bringing in ad sales of more than $350 will be paid a 10% commission on any amount earned above the $350 to help with her pageant expenses. Receipts must be turned in to the director when using 10% commission. Commission may also be donated back to the pageant for scholarships.
8. Title holders from other pageant systems, if they win a title at Miss Escondido Pageants, must make the Escondido appearance a priority over any other title.
9. All practices are mandatory unless an absence is excused by the Pageant Director with the understanding that emergencies can happen. Unexcused absences will result in a deduction of points and could result in removal from competition without a refund of any kind. Punctuality is as important as attendance. Showing up late to practice will also result in loss of points.
Failure to follow guidelines presented will result in forfeiture of the title, crown and any and all prizes without refund of any kind. All of which will be transferred to the next qualified contestant.

There is no entry fee to participate in the pageant, however to defray the costs of the pageant each contestant will be responsible for obtaining sponsors via sales of program advertisements and sponsorships totally of at least $350.

Waiver of liability and assumption of risk
I, _______________________________________________________, attest that I am appearing in the Miss Escondido Pageants voluntarily and in so doing I assume all of the risks arising from the participation in such a pageant. In addition, should I be awarded a title as a member of the Miss Escondido Pageants, I voluntarily agree to participate in activities of that office, and again, I assume all risks associated with such activities. I forever release, discharge and covenant to hold harmless the Miss Escondido Pageant Program, The Greater Escondido Chamber of Commerce, The Rotary Club of Escondido, the City of Escondido and all affiliates from loss, damage, or injury to person or property arising out of or incident to my performance in the Miss Escondido Pageants Courts, including, but not limited to all damages to person or property whether or not resulting from the negligence of the Miss Escondido Pageants program organization, and its officers, directors, agents, representative, sponsors and employees.
I hereby assume all risks to myself associated with the production and presentation of this pageant and with my subsequent activities during my reign as a titleholder, should I become a title holder as a result of the pageant. I certify that I have entered into the competition with no reservations whatsoever in this regard.

Arbitration agreement
This arbitration agreement (agreement) is made as of the date of execution noted below and between the Miss Escondido Pageant Program and (Contestant identified below).
Whereas, Club and Contestant, the parties to this Agreement, wish to resolve any and all disputes concerning participation of Contestant in The Miss Escondido Program or Contestant/s subsequent performance of duties as a titleholder following the pageant through binding arbitration.
In Consideration, of the mutual benefits of the covenants and agreements contained herein, the parties hereby agree as follows:
1. Effective Date: The term Effective Date shall mean the first date on which both parties have signed this agreement.
2. Any controversy or claim arising out of or relating to Contestant/s participation in the Miss Escondido Pageant Program or Contestant/s subsequence performance of duties as a titleholder following the pageant shall be settled by arbitration, governed by the laws of the State of California and the County of San Diego. Judgment on any award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having San Diego. Judgement on any award rendered by the arbitrator(s) may be entered in any court having jurisdiction thereof.
3. This Agreement contains the entire understanding of the parties and supersedes any previous verbal or written agreements or representations between the parties concerning the matters set forth herein.
4. Alterations, amendments, or modification of a provision of the Agreement shall not be binding unless such alteration, amendment, or modification is in writing and signed by an authorized representative of each party.
5. This Agreement may be executed in multiple counterparts, each of which shall be an original, but which together shall constitute on and the same instrument.

Model Release: I do hereby give my permission for Miss Escondido Pageant Program, and its affiliations to use my photographs in publicity and promotion (including, but not limited to newspapers, television, magazines and social media). I understand and agree that I will not receive compensation for such photos.
